This will be crude, but I can explain the idiom for you.
Some people are very uptight. One might describe them as having a stick up their ass. You know, if you had one in your ass, you might be rather uptight, too. It’s meant to be offensive.
It’s usually used to describe a third person, or directly among friends.
They are saying chopsticks only because you are Japanese. No one says “take the fork out of your ass”, where a fork is the equivalent of a pair of chopsticks.
We also tell men who might be considered behaving effeminately to “get the dick out of their ass”, too.
