Help! I’m looking for an article that describes best practices for conda environment files 🔎 Specifically, I want something that explains how to find the balance between listing the exact package versions and listing no version at all. Do any of my #RSE s have a link to share?

@JamesABednar @condaproject Dredging up an old thread here if you’re willing… My experience with lock files is that they aren’t very portable. Even when the person reproducing the env is on the same OS, the build can fail. Containers solve this problem, but sometimes I don’t expect my user to use them.
