It saddens me that most culers have no idea who Leao is. He’s the epitome of who I will describe as a ceiling raiser. “Pressing” can be redundant because it doesn’t address the full scope of why a player like Leao doesn’t press. Milan have some of the most athletic midfielders in Europe. Pressing starts from the front, but people forget it’s the middle third where winning the ball is more imperative. Most tacticos don’t rate our midfielders because they’re not athletic freaks which is very important. Why do you think Pedri’s form has regressed? Leao is surrounded by physically inclined midfielders and defenders, pressing is the thing his managers would expect from him. Do you guys think Luka Modric would survive at this age in Italy without being surrounded by athletic freaks? What’s Arsenal’s front 3 and their contributions to pressing?

Bayern conceded 4 goals total against Real Madrid meanwhile Barcelona conceded 3 goals total against Atletico Madrid. Bayern progressed but Barcelona didn’t. The difference here is Bayern were more clinical with world class attackers. Kane, Olise, Diaz, Musiala etc. Barcelona’s defense was never the problem, we needed to be better up front. Once we have this fixed no one will speak about our high defensive line like CBS sports, ESPN & Paramount annoyingly, and repetitively do. Let’s make appropriate signings this summer that could strengthen our attacker. A left winger and a striker.
