We have a massive physician shortage—especially in primary care. The backlog is real, and patient volumes are out of control. (Ask anyone trying to get an appt with a PCP) IMGs are essential. We’re lucky they choose to come here and care for patients. Posts like this aren’t concern—they’re overtly racist.

I saw this video as soon as Rinu posted it and my initial reaction was to criticise these Nigerians who are selling their future for as little as 2,000 Naira. But I needed to quickly step out to buy fuel, and the first thing I noticed was how hot the sun is. It occurred to me that I have not had any reason to open my curtains or step outside since morning. Not having to hustle during the weekend after going to work the whole week is a privilege that many Nigerians do not have. In the 15 to 20 minutes that it took me to get fuel and return to my house, I saw no fewer than 5 women and children hawking different items like pepper, frozen fish, and cold drinks in the hot sun. While I complained about the sun, they had no alternative but to be in it if they must survive. It again occurred to me that I can afford to buy at least 10,000 Naira worth of fuel at a go while these hawkers struggle to make 1,000 Naira a day in profit, and if someone offered them 2,000 just to sing the praises of politicians, they would gladly do so. I got home and put my generator on, and as I sit now typing this tweet, it has again occurred to me that those hawkers that I saw definitely do not have generators at home, and will suffer from the same heat that I can afford to prevent. Although I knew that I was more privileged than some Nigerians, juxtaposing my lifestyle side by side with those of the hawkers made me realise how privileged I am. My point is that it is easy to judge these people from our privileged vantage points, but we must recognise that many Nigerians are victims of a system which is working efficiently to keep them poor and unproductive so that they can sell their future for as little as 2,000 Naira. Conclusively, we should be more favourable in our criticism of them.

Good morning. Looks like everyone has moved on from this Ozoro matter. I just want to say this : As a country, I understand we’re not a lot of twitter but we really lack collective focus on collective issues. I pray the ladies involved get proper treatments and support and praying the perpetrators get punished. 1. Do not standby and watch sexual assault happen beside you. Stand against it and let your voice be heard. 2. Do not be directly involved in sexual assault. 3. Do not falsely accuse anyone of sexual assault.

I don’t want to sound like a nuisance but it’ll be good to hear some update from the government and the police on this Ozoro matter, everything is dying down. I’m yet to actually see one person that was arrested.

Dear X, Congratulations on pulling one of the sleaziest bait-and-switch moves in tech history. I paid for my Premium subscription expecting X Pro (the actual useful tool formerly known as TweetDeck) to be included as it was when I signed up and kept paying. Now, with zero warning, zero notice, and right in the middle of my billing cycle, you've yanked it away and locked it behind your ridiculous $40/month Premium+ paywall. Poof. Gone. Like it never mattered. This isn't "improving the service." This is straight-up theft of value from paying customers. You took my money under false pretenses, then changed the deal without so much as a DM, email, or pathetic little pop-up. No prorated refund. No apology. Just "lol enjoy the downgrade, sucker." X Pro was the ONE actually productive feature that made subscribing worth it for power users who actually manage timelines, columns, and real work, not just doomscrolling and posting memes. Everything else is fluff. Now it's pay more or lose it. This is the kind of greedy, user-hostile garbage that kills platforms. Treat your subscribers like ATMs you can shake down whenever you feel like hiking the price, and watch how fast loyalty evaporates. Refund the prorated difference or restore X Pro to Premium immediately. Or keep proving that "maximum truth-seeking" apparently doesn't apply to basic consumer honesty.
