Just taught a tutorial where students are assigned a group paper to write. They came up with first draft ideas and I had the sense it was useful to talk about the sociological concept of emotional energy with them, a la Collins. 1/

@Vervoort_Joost @cmPlaysScience I find this book frustrating, even if I do think he's pointing at the very real sense that participation in groups is something very different from just the sum of people's interactions. Have you read Collaborative Circles by Farrell? Similar vibe, better empirical work.

The fun thing about flexible workspaces is that every single desk chair and hardware setup is different. That way, you can make sure to bump your head while sitting on the floor before 930am on a Monday, forcing you to basically cry under your desk. Ready for the week!
