As I get older, I routinely appreciate things I thought were black and white are far more nuanced, and rarely is there pure good or pure evil in this world. Except ICE. ICE is pure evil. Nobody is aiming for nuance there.

@ColtsFilmRoom Basically: picture is incomplete and hard to assess it right now, but not doubling down on mediocrity, which had been a core tenet. They may well fail to solve any ?s, but at least making it easier for the next GM if they don't.

@ColtsFilmRoom Fwiw (not much!), I...agree with almost all of your logic over past week. I don't think any of it will work out b/c I think Ballard has fundamentally fumbled the build, but they're making the least-bad choices, even if they look bad in present-tense urgency.

This franchise holds such a weird place in my heart. Every installment sans 28WL (which we don't have to talk about but also isn't terrible!) was weirdly released exactly at some hyper-specifically pivotal moment in my life. I associate *so much* with this franchise.

I brushed against Spike not really being the POV character in theaters, but embraced Samson's POV (and Chi Lewis-Parry's performance) so much on a second watch. Ultimately, if they leave us with THAT ending and no third installment though, man...

Just rewatched The Bone Temple for first time since theaters and it's 1000x better on a rewatch. Mostly just being prepared for the shape of it and what I resisted embracing the first time. If we don't get the complete trilogy, it will be an all-time cinema sin.

It's OK to have questions about DeVries after his debut season for #iubb. But the extreme overreaction is exactly why the program is in the state it is. When you reconcile having lost blue blood status long ago, it doesn't make sense for *everything* to be a rreferendum.
