Celebrating Women in science- Lou Henry (Hoover) was the first woman to receive a degree in Geology @Stanford University in 1898. #Stem #WomenInScience

She helped Congress draft the Clean Water Act of 1972 & she counseled Presidents Johnson & Reagan on water pollution and acid rain. In 1996 Dr. Patrick was awarded the National Medal of Science. She lived to the age of 105, passing away in 2013. #InternationalDayOfWomenInScience

Dr. Patrick authored over 200 scientific papers, discovered that The Great Salt Lake was once a freshwater basin & became the first woman and first environmentalist to serve on the DuPont board of directors. #InternationalDayOfWomenInScience

At the Conde Charlotte House in Mobile, AL museum staff has “just completed a critical upgrade here at the museum. Specialty films have been applied to our windows in order to prevent sun damage to our drapery, rugs & furniture.”⁣⁣ [The #NSCDA-AL has owed the home since 1955]

Snow blankets the Craik-Patton House in Charleston, WV. ❄️ This 1834 home belonged to James Craik, grandson of Dr. James Craik - personal physician to President #GeorgeWashington. The home was saved by NSCDA-WV & moved to its current location in 1973. #SnowStorm2021
