The queer comic characters of the day are Grace Choi and Anissa Pierce / Thunder from DC, who are bisexual and lesbian, respectively. They both starred in Outsiders (2003), Vixen: NYC, and Black Lightning (2025).

The second queer comic character of the day is Connor Hawke / Green Arrow from DC, who is asexual. While coded for a while, he came out in DC Pride 2022. He also stars in Green Arrow (1987) #91-137.

The queer comic character of the day is Loki Laufeyson from Marvel, who is genderfluid and bisexual. Journey into Mystery (2011) > Young Avengers (2013) > Loki: Agent of Asgard is the trilogy introducing this more heroic characterization of Loki.

A Newsarama article - seemingly only on Internet Archive now - includes a question directed at writer Cornell who emphasizes it's down to reader interpretation. The only term he uses for Ystin is transgender.

Ystin was introduced in Seven Soldiers: Shining Knight and also appears in Demon Knights (2011). An article about Ystin and their identity can be found here at Comic Alliance. comicsalliance.com/demon-knights-…

The queer comic character of the day is Sir Ystin from DC, who is trans. Ystin's specific identity is intentionally left up for interpretation by the author. Fans have viewed Ystin as nonbinary, genderfluid, trans-masc, genderqueer, and/or intersex, along with other identities.

Today's queer comic character of the day is the Filipino hero ZsaZsa Zaturnnah / Ada, who is a gay man who can turn into a superheroine due to a magic stone. Not only a comic character, Zsazsa also has a liveaction movie and upcoming animated movie. There is also a kickstarter.

That both Vertigo and Milestone introduced the first trans heroes in the same year is a testament to how important these imprints were for the evolution of comics. They pushed comics forward in a way that few - or perhaps no - other imprints / initiatives have.

The queer comic character of the day is Julio "Ric" Richter aka Rictor from Marvel, who is gay! He was introduced in X-Factor (1986) #17. In X-Factor (2006) #45, Rictor and Shatterstar had the first explicitly romantic gay kiss in Marvel.

@caos_bissexual What I’ve been told is that there was quite a bit of exploration before regarding Robotman’s gender / “manhood” leaning towards almost a nonbinary interpretation. Hence why Coagula continues to assert that she isn’t interested in men.

@comicvisibility Thats weird taking in consideration that she was dating a man canonically. I mean hes a robot but still But no worries!

The 2nd queer comic character of the day is Kate Godwin / Coagula from DC / Vertigo! She's a lesbian trans woman! Coagula is the first openly trans superhero in comics. She was introduced in Doom Patrol (1987) #70 by Rachel Pollack in 1993.

@caos_bissexual That is not my intent! I said lesbian because that is the only term that has explicitly and consistently been used for Kate in the comics / by DC to my knowledge. Pollack continued to say Coagula is lesbian even in 2016. comicmix.com/2016/09/13/joe…
