I've just got back from the #ILSA (Irish Learning Support Association) conference in Ireland. It was the first time since COVID, so it was great to be back in the Emerald Isle again. So hello to followers over there: How are you?

There is now a global problem with short-sightedness because kids today spend more time indoors, looking at screens; rather than outside, where their eyes have to focus on distant objects. Everything today is EdTECH. How about more #handsonmaterials? bit.ly/2meL5qA

Visual difficulties affect reading, but we don't always know what they are. #Visualstress is common, but there can be other problems. If a #colouredoverlay or #readingruler helps a child let them use it, but they should also see an optometrist if possible. bit.ly/2lLafge

What's trending now? Ugh! The whole "trending" notion, promoted by just about everything from I Tunes to Twitter, sets my teeth on edge. I'd rather set trends than follow them; follow my own path rather than be herded. Wouldn't you?

I read of one man's proposal to solve a problem this morning, that had "experts" saying he raised more questions than offered solutions. A visionary uses a broad brush to fill in a picture. An expert throws it out because the visionary has gone over the edges.

I (Bob) get pretty soon bored with everyone else's promotional tweets, and I expect everyone else gets equally bored with ours - so in the spirit of doing to others as you'd like done to yourself I'm going to try and tweet stuff that has made me think or smile from now on.
