There are two types of people, those who care what others think and those who don’t. Maddy is clearly the type who cares. It is not just about living in a humble place, it is about living in one and still trying to present yourself as if you are above it. She constantly curates how people see her, almost spoon feeding them an image without them even asking. Through her conversations, her attitude, and especially her fashion, she is always trying to control the perception of who she is. This is not really about money, it is about identity. She does not just want respect, she wants to be seen a certain way at all times, even if it does not fully match her reality.
