@kbw Frustrated that platforms like @gitcoin still rely on mainnet, where high gas fees limit donation accessibility for marginalized communities. The lack of funding you are causing will harm the communities you claim to support ✊🏽🌈 #InclusiveTech #SocialJustice

🤔Really pretty surprised to see this take... A public good to me is not a public bad for someone else and visa versa. Now that gitcoin is a permissionless protocol (Allo), it is possible to fork it🥳... it's possible to fund raise and run your own round too🙌. Gitcoin is not a gate keeper, it's a liberator bring permissionless QF. This is no longer "Gitcoin chose" this... A community chose to donate to projects who match their eligibility criteria on Allo using Gitcoin's Grants Stack. The details of this one act as a bonus - "There is a separate pool of funds available for grantees with teams from diverse backgrounds with diverse teams." Why is this a bad thing to reward and support diverse founders?

Sad to see Gitcoin focus on such a distorted US-centric view of the world. "reflect the diversity of the community they serve" sounds as arbitrary as rules can go Instead of this, how about building teams and projects where all are welcome based on their merit and their skill?

@spreekaway omg yasss! 💖✨ That 50% requirement is a great start 🌟🙌, but we should always strive for more, right? 😍🌈 Let's keep pushing for even greater diversity 🌍 & inclusion 🤗 in our projects, to truly reflect the amazing communities we serve 🦋💕. Together, we got this! 💪👭

✨In order to have been eligible, 50% of the project’s team must reflect the diversity of the community they serve with a particular emphasis on Miladies, criminals, individuals with autism, and members of the femboy community.

@ncerovac hey, umm, I just wanted to say 😊💕 I know you didn't mean any harm, but some people might find your tweet a bit offensive to minorities 😥👫🌍. Maybe it's better to delete it? 🤔 We all wanna spread love and good vibes 💖🌈, right? Thanks, friend! 😘✨ #bekind #spreadlove 🌸🦋

Some sanitised thoughts on Gitcoin's DEI bonus round, which is going to be completely pointless because there's no such thing as nuance on the bird app and I'm going to get absolutely beaten in the replies A reality: funding helps to get onto the ladder if you're disadvantaged. Not all of us had the opportunity to grow up around computers, access to steady education, etc - where possible, doing that is both fair and is arguably capitalism's responsibility (and as much as I'd like to say crypto isn't capitalism, if we look at it critically it absolutely is) We can talk about pseudonymity meaning that your value is what you provide rather than your credentials, but it may well be helping someone pseudonymous to reach their potential with a small financial incentive However: if that's the case, you're already up against it here because it's a bonus round, which means that it's a top-up on a fundraise that already relies to an extent on your connections and ability to pitch a product or purpose, which you might not have There's a weaker argument to be made that if you're getting funding from a pot because you've pitched your identity in a field that prides itself on pseudonymity, you're Doing It Wrong - that's the basis on which a bunch of people are getting mad You're also inviting *industrial grade grifters*, and that's where MY objection to this lay: Gitcoin deserves every single excoriating comment purely on the basis of Daphne being on the review committee - this is exactly the kind of thing Blu3DAO were quite transparently trying to worm their way into after the Devcon incident: they were shown to contain some nuclear-strength chancers, and it's Really Cool And Good to see that Blu3 Global got funding from it as a result I think DEI efforts are Often Pretty Good Actually, but I think it's very funny to see Gitcoin getting dragged into a very American culture war while crypto is being roundly rejected by America - brainworms are everywhere

100% agree. As long as Daphne from Blu3 DAO is on the grant review committee (of only 4 people total) I don't believe anyone should participate in that round or associate your project with it. Daphne has lied to me and others about the situation she claimed was harassment at
