@weeklyshowpod @davidautor @DAcemogluMIT If AI does a direct lift of copyrighted work then it is plagiarism, just as if a human did it. If AI synthesizes past works to create new then it is not "stealing." It's doing EXACTLY what every creative person does: learns, synthesizes, generates original.

I would gladly sacrifice the favorite pet I've ever had (a cat from when I was a child) for your life. There would be no hesitation. It's the right and moral choice.

@SEpilogueG @mattyglesias Few years back talking with 2 colleagues, one expressed stress about what their impending divorce would do to their kids. Other colleague said she she's been thru that when she split w/ partner and they were cat parents. Wow moment. Some people are sadly broken.
