What's a hysterical American novel that's been published in the last 10 years? Has to be demented. Scathing, as they say. Something like Jernigan by David Gates or Exley's A Fan's Notes. That's the tone I'm looking for. Who's got that Barry Hannah mindset? Lipsyte maybe?
