I can see stuff like this coming back into the communities. Automation is getting more affordable and small machines like this start to make sense. Imagine small shops all over the country doing this. I keep looking at older machines made 100 years ago or more. They were made well and if we automated with some modern electrics they would be very efficient. We keep going bigger and faster (which requires huge sales) but I think there may be a place for small and efficient in local economies.

It speaks to the sorry state of US residential interiors that even fairly standard, second generation upper-middle class furnishing has become aspirational.



I have a country home on acreage, but even small apartment living can be dope. Less trouble, zero maintenance.


One of my pet peeves at the grocery store: seeing people shop in their pajamas. Call me old-fashioned…
