The rumor of an alleged plot to remove the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rahidi Adewolu Ladoja, by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State isn’t surprising to me. The Ibadan chieftaincy system is a time-honored institution built on order, dignity & due process, which is envied far & wide. But trust politicians to always get carried away by power, then attempt to destroy heritage for selfish reasons. Mr. Seyi Makinde that was assisted by Sen. Rashidi Ladoja & Sen. Sharafadeen Alli to become Governor is now hounding both men, over failed forceful High Chiefs’ coronation.
