@mspringut This is great. My kid's school was mostly demolished and rebuilt. In the lobby they have the original 1925 stone with the members of the board of education and contractor carved in it. Next to it they have a plaque of the same size from the rebuild with vinyl lettering.

Our carvers are so talented. We had a lettering workshop today. For some, it was their first time carving letters.

Due to screw-ups and delays, I’ve had to spend all day in Reagan National Airport. But I decided to make the best of it. I had a pencil, some pens and a pad of 6 x 6 Bristol boards so I thought I’d see how many JLI headshots I could do. The answer was 8.

I would love to do a study of NASCAR fans by age group that actually care about this. The core base is right around 50+ and most boomers can’t tell the difference. So by the numbers, it makes sense to use it. But outside of creatives, I’m curious to see if anyone else cares.

Tens of millions in politeness tokens is a rounding error on a rounding error. 67% of users do it anyway, and 55% of them say it’s because it’s “the right thing to do.” They’re maintaining a behavioral habit that governs every other interaction in their life. The parent who teaches their kid to say please to Alexa isn’t doing it for Alexa. They’re doing it because the alternative is raising someone who learns that being rude gets faster results. Telling 900 million people to stop saying thank you so OpenAI can save 0.01% of operating costs is the most engineer-brained optimization take on the internet. You’re training yourself to treat every interaction as a transaction. And that habit doesn’t stay in the chat window.

I was going by my visual perception of the photos. The wing placement is obvious if you research the 2 cruise missiles. The descent angle is >70°, a little higher than Tomahawk envelope, but significantly higher than the KA55 envelope. Indicates loss of control due to interference with GPS/GNSS signals and/or operating electronics. This further indicates not a Tomahawk as our electronic jamming procedures would have not been directed in the same area.

This is the strike that killed 160 children at the Shajarah Tayyebeh elementary school for a war that does not make one American safer.

Video analysis by AI shows the missile that hit the school was a KA55 Iranian missile likely disoriented by our electronic jamming equipment. The wings were in the wrong position for a Tomahawk, but everyone could tell that from just looking at the picture that it wasn’t a Tomahawk.
