I keep thinking about this headline. In May 2020 100,000 deaths was an incalculable loss. Yet we have now lost nearly 400,000 people to COVID in the US over the last year (Sep 2021 to Sep 2022), & "the pandemic is over." This is what the normalization of mass death looks like.

Vaccines aren't very good at stopping transmission any more unfortunately.
But they are still phenomenonal at preventing severe illness and death.
So while mandates don't make much sense now, it's still 100% worth getting vaccinated - it might just save your life.

One of my friends has just received this email from their directorate. I’ve advised them to reply “because I’ve got a bloody life outside of this hospital and I already spend too much time in this place”. Making people feel guilty for not working on days off is filthy.
