David Holburn, G3XZP SK. I am saddened to report the death of one of our members. David Holburn, G3XZP, a Fellow of Gonville and Caius college, Cambridge died suddenly on Saturday 6th December. David was a keen member of our online CW training school and will be greatly missed.

Whilst the object is contact as many radio amateurs as possible in a week, it is hoped that a QSO goes beyond just an exchange of RST and becomes a CW chat for as long a duration as you wish. Enjoy. See the website essexcw.uk for bands and frequencies to use.

Our CW Activity Week will be during the second full week of November, i.e. Sunday 9th – 15th November. This is a friendly non-contest style event to encourage CW operators old and new. QRS operators specially made welcome. See essexcw.uk for more info.

This years Bootcamp was a great success, with 30 CW addicts attending from across the UK and Europe. Andy G0IBN Honorary President seen here awarding the Memorial Key to Richard Spragg G4HPY for services to the club. Congratulations Richard.

At the Canvey Rally today, it was announced that Andy, G0IBN, has accepted the committee's invitation to become our very first Honorary President. Congratulations to Andy - very well deserved. Andy is on far right. Also in picture Dean G4WQI, Paul G4PVM and Keith G3WGE.

It is the Canvey Rally tomorrow, Sunday 4th Feb. We look forward to seeing many of our members at our stand. Hpe cu there.
