What a difference 1 year can make … Cortex 2.0 as it appeared on 30 April 2025 and how it looks 1 year later. As incredibly fast as @Tesla works, it still takes awhile to complete massive new projects like this. The lead times for these projects (and acquiring and/or manufacturing the equipment for their operation) can be brutal, often measured in years. This is why we already see work in progress for the Optimus Factory (IMHO, probably in a phase 1 then a later, phase 2 expansion approach to begin early operation as quickly as possible) with a target of late 2027 for initial operation and also the new Advanced Technology Chip Fab probably initial operation in early 2028 (IMO based on current progress).

In 2012 we started building Superchargers, as charging infrastructure just wasn't taken seriously. Superchargers are growing 1+ stall every hour and are a pillar for EV adoption. We're now doing the same for electric Semis with Megachargers. The goal is to transform this industry next. It's super exciting to be part of a company that can will this into existence. The @TeslaCharging teams are cut out for this and are inspired to make it happen. Different from the early days of Superchargers, is that companies and fueling providers are finally taking charging more seriously. We're seeing a lot of interest to invest in charging infrastructure, including Semi infrastructure. This is great. They need to begin production first and that is only just now starting to prepare for June deliveries. I think real delivery notifications will start going out in a week or two, but I’ll probably be able to tell more about the trend line & progress towards this goal for sure in the outbound lot sometime in the next two weeks or so.

I’m unboxing a T-shirt I just received from Tesla. It’s the new “Amazing Abundance” Optimus T-shirt. At first it seems like a regular black T-shirt. It actually signifies so much more than something to wear. On the front in small blue letters it says “amazing abundance.” On the back is the beautiful image of the Optimus robot reflecting the planet Earth. When people see that, they’re going to stop and ask me what that means. Most people right now think we’re headed toward a sad world of austerity and scarcity. Amazing abundance means the opposite. It means we can have big families. We’ll only really have to work if that’s what we desire. Thanks to robotic mass production, there will be enough so we will not want for anything. If you want to live in a penthouse, we can all live in penthouses. For me, I’m so excited for the future for my children and my future grandchildren. This is one of the best T-shirts Tesla has ever made. This shirt represents a whole new chapter for Tesla, one of amazing abundance, not limits. Optimus is proof we’re building that future right now.
