@Theodore1jensen even though it stopped being supported by wacom i haven’t had any issues with using the latest drivers from a few years ago

@Theodore1jensen honestly i really like older wacom tablets and have been loving working on cth-480, something about working on them feels much smoother and they have gestures too??? i got mine for less than €20 including shipping on ebay (pic not mine)

digital artist oomfs i wanna buy a cheap, screenless graphics tablet. something light, portable, and around 12x8 in at the smallest. any recommendations?

@CrawsPaws @rennypilled i think that you can find your own way depending on what you think you’re lacking now. grayscale is a good way of practicing specifically contrasts and form but if you feel like you’d like to improve your colour specifically i would work on top of a vibrant colour!

im gonna try rendering in gray scale if i dont become a professional after that im gonna be pissed

@MikeyyAngel0 i don’t think that this inherently helps with the frustration that comes from making art when you don’t feel too good about it but i do think that separating the audience from how you yourself view your art allows you to break it down to just your own feelings

@MikeyyAngel0 i kind of changed my attitude towards art when i realised that skill doesn’t matter nearly as much as authenticity when it comes to how people view your art, people appreciate skill for sure but the wider public is drawn a bit more to connecting with something you made

i feel like a lot of videos or discussion around artfight and what it means to be an artist are kind of filled with empty platitudes meant for ppl who already find joy in art to say "yeah you fail at art if you have perfectionism" without explaining how to get out or avoid that.
