Attended commemoration for my great granuncle Brig-General George Adamson today. Awarded Distinguished Conduct Medal in WW1, shot dead at beginning of Civil War in Athlone 100 years ago tonight. Nice to hear from distant relatives that I'm "the spit of my granny"! #twiceahero

3-4 years ago I picked up 2 acorns on a walk in @GlenstalAbbey, stuck them in two small flower pots in the back garden of my rented house... today I'm planting two oak trees up the country in the garden of my home.

In my hometown in Ireland there are A LOT of O’Sullivans Most of us aren’t related (though we probably are). As a result every family has a nickname. A local magazine put together a list of all the nicknames for the Sullivans in our area. Some of these are amazing.

My favourite section of the daily walk where my head is at one with nature.
