was watching a random @CppCon talk, “C++ Requests: Curl for People” by Huu Nguyen and fell down the rabbit hole. ended up building a tiny cli that takes a github username and spits out their repos + last 5 push events.

parsing json from the github api via libcurl is a rite of passage but the lack of native type safety makes error handling for those push event payloads a headache. if you keep scaling this to more endpoints you should swap out the string parsing for a header-only library like nlohmann/json to avoid manual buffer management. seeing devs bridge legacy c++ patterns with modern web tooling is the right way to stay sharp.

work done today: - learned about http methods and got to know about the need of expressjs - created a server using expressjs - learned about how versioning works - created a dynamic REST API using expressjs - made some few changes to bookmarker (layout) and portfolio

good morning ☀️ spent most of yesterday digging into redis bigkeys and memory analysis, so not much progress on node learning. today we’re fixing that, more time on node.js, building a few things and breaking a few things.
