Finally got around to getting a proper domain for hosting esmBot-related stuff specifically, and designed a small new landing page for it: esmbot.net

esmBot 1.9 is out now! Lots of backend changes here that should hopefully optimize it even more and make it easier to set up and run an instance. Void dragons, sky towers, and sword blocking not included. github.com/esmBot/esmBot/…

@JauntywebAU discord changed their API and the old method won't work anymore, you can instead right click on the message, select Apps -> Select Image, and then run the command

Notice to self-hosters: if you use an SQLite database, DO NOT UPDATE TO NODE.JS 19. The package used for handling SQLite currently fails to build on version 19 and will not work. Until the pull request below is merged, please use Node.js versions 16-18 instead.

Did you know that esmBot has full music playback support for music tracker module formats like MOD, XM, and IT? These "chiptunes" written in these formats can be found across the web in many places and played back with ease! Why not give one a go?

@kasamikona tbf quite a few trackers do it by default, I wanted a default that would make most tunes sound clearer without (hopefully) wrecking chip samples

@kasamikona The main bot uses linear interpolation, however I may add a config option to the Lavalink plugin to change the interpolation type for self-hosters

@esmBot_ But can it play with interpolation disabled for all that crusty goodness?
