Grindavík evacuation completed around 2:30 am A new risk assessment, expected around noon, is being prepared. The situation is described as a "hugely powerful scenario" with no indication of it ending soon. Uncertainty remains regarding when evacuated residents can return home. Plans are underway to facilitate the return of residents to collect essential belongings left behind. Emergency responders in Grindavík say that the town has sustained considerable damage from the repeated powerful earthquakes. Seismic activity indicates a potential eruption, but it's impossible to predict when or where exactly it might happen. Magma tunnel stretches under Grindavík, with the possibility of eruption in the sea southwest of Grindavík. @emilykmay I know...people have been saying this and kept the baby production line going, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10...exponentially rising. Just look at the world population 8 billion and rising! and population explosion is the main reason for climate change and deforestation.
