If I was a high school football coach wrestling would be mandatory for all big guys on the team as track would be mandatory for all athletes on team.

If a wrestler needs “reaction time”, that implies the offensive action created a scoring position. Waiting to see if the defender can react before awarding points prioritizes the defense rather than rewarding the offense. Reward offensive success rather than reactive scrambling.

“If you cant defend a takedown or get up off your back, maybe you’re not a BMF and you should change the rules.” The fact they never changed the rules is exactly what makes it bad ass. The assassination of Charlie Kirk is bringing out some of the best in humanity and it’s also exposing some of the worst. The unification, love, support, and outcry on his behalf throughout the world is heartwarming. The number of people supporting Tyler Robinson’s appalling behavior has opened my eyes to a side of extremism with a moral superiority complex that has also shaken my belief in people in general. I hope they are held accountable for their disgusting rhetoric.

Like all of you, I am utterly stunned and heartbroken and sick to my soul today. It is unimaginable to write these words. I met Charlie Kirk when he was 18 years old, a young man so eager and determined that I immediately turned to a friend and said, “That kid is going to be the head of the RNC one day.” Charlie became even bigger and more important than that. It was a privilege to watch this principled man stand up for his beliefs and create the single most important conservative political organization in America. But more importantly, Charlie was a good man, a man who believed in right and wrong, who stood by his Biblical values. All of us will miss him, and I can’t imagine the pain of his beautiful young family, and we must all pray for them. And we must pick up the baton where Charlie left it, fighting for the things he believed in so passionately. And we must fight for a better America - an America where good people can speak truth and debate passionately without fear of a bullet. I weep for Charlie’s family, and I weep for my country today. Most of all, I weep for Charlie.

Jayson Tatum is one of the most consistent and selfless superstars in all of team sports. He’s an incredible scorer, but he does so many things that go largely unnoticed in the box score, just to impact winning. In a league where stars are uncertain to play on any given night, he’s been as available as any of them. He’s a great teammate and ambassador for the NBA. This one truly sucks to see.
