This piece on Coach Kerr from Wright Thompson is extraordinary. Everyone who is interested in good writing, good craft, or good coaching should read it and savor it. My god is it good. espn.com/nba/story/_/id…

Wright Thompson spent a ton of time around Steve Kerr this season and dropped this story today. Gives plenty of insight into Kerr’s choice to return to the Warriors after agonizing over the decision for months. espn.com/nba/story/_/id…

As those who read my book might remember, Craig Morton was the first quarterback that I, as a very young boy, noticed, studied, shook hands with, emulated. RIP.

My latest: The Seahawks will likely fetch a record price for an NFL franchise, but the market is surprisingly "soft," per league insiders and those involved in the process. espn.com/nfl/story/_/id…

I miss “The Professor” John Clayton. That may be random but let’s give him some love. Guy was a total pro.

Happy 81st to the one and only Bob Seger, the soundtrack of my youth growing up in the D. Saw him at sold-out MSG about ten years ago. The entire stadium singing the words to every song.

@Ol_TimeFootball It's odd when people say that Montana never threw an INT in a SB, as an exemplar of his perfection. Technically true, but he threw this one right to him. What made Montana great wasn't that he was always flawless; it was that he was flawless when he needed to be.

@Ol_TimeFootball Funny, but don’t I recall a Cincy def back dropping a Montana pass thrown right into his arms during that drive? Why is that never mentioned or shown? Great clutch drive, don’t get me wrong - but the Bengals had their chance to stop the drive but couldn’t intercept the ball.

If this is it for Russell Wilson, he should be congratulated on an outstanding career. From 2017-2020, he threw 140 touchdowns against 36 picks. He was also tough as hell. Not many third-round picks start every game for the first nine years of their career.
