Well, after a bunch of messing around with getting browser location services to work with chasemapper, I found out that most browsers wont provide location data unless HTTPS is used... That's going to be a difficult one for this flask-socketio app..

Look for recommendations on cheap-ish 1xAA (~0.9-1.6V) to 3.3V step-up converters. I need ~120mA @ 3.3V. I've done this before using a TPS6120x, but would rather not have to spin my own board again. Aliexpress cheapies (ME2108 based) cant supply enough current.

@vk5qi That, and balloons are magnetically repelled from parkland in which it would be very easy to retrieve them.

@CJI68449235 Hi, thanks for the tweet. I haven't written a step by step guide but I think the post was comprehensive enough - is there any particular part you're confused by? If you don't fully understand what you're doing here I'd advise some care as you may brick the TV...

@alexeckermann If the 5v side is just being used to power a logic level converter, you could get away with using a linear regulator for it (e.g. 7805).

If there’s any electronics peeps that wander past, I’d like to know if that’s ‘serviceable’ — to split a 12V supply out to a 3.3V for a micro, and a 5V to power the HV side of a logic level converter just for a data line. Is there a better way?
