Casual sex is unironically a huge part of why so many women have become politically radicalized. I witnessed this myself in college: one too many bad situationships, and they begin to carry this feeling of being a piece of meat everywhere, projecting it onto “society” despite there being zero material evidence of structural misogyny in the West. The bitter irony is that hookup / situationship culture is a byproduct of feminism; they fought for the ability to be treated like pieces of meat, to be equal to men sexual the way gay men are with each other, but the attainment of this freedom has done nothing but foment an even deeper hatred of their father’s civilization

I used to have an NYC friend who liked to pick my brain about her dating life. Our conversations would go like this: "Till what time of the day [of a date] should I give a guy until I cancel on him if he doesn't confirm?" This question confused me. "Wait, what do you mean? Do you already have plans set?" "Yeah we do but he has to confirm." "I don't know... if you doubt that you're still on for the date, why don't you text him and ask?" "No, that's not my job." "Okay... so why not just show up at the time and place you agreed to then?" "No, he has to confirm or I'll cancel." "So you're saying after you've agreed on a time and place you want him to text you the day of to let you know he's still coming?" "Yes, by like noon or I'll cancel." "Did you tell him this? Good luck to you." Eventually, I learned she had a short list of Tik Tok influencers who were filling her head with all these dating rules every day. Total nonsense. Completely anti-social and neurotic. Playing every single insecurity she had and convincing her to self-sabotage at every turn. But she was completely beholden to them. They owned her mind and directed her moves. It is difficult to overstate how unhealthy Tik Tok is for young women. It's like a diet of McDonald's every day for the brian. If I could commission one study it would be: -Life outcomes for women who never used Tik Tok or Instagram vs. -Life outcomes for those who were active uses in their formative years I bet the differences would be striking.
