After her death on April 16, 1879, at the age of 33, her body was exhumed three times - in 1909, 1919, and 1925 - and was found to be incorrupt. One of the doctors who oversaw the examination of her body in 1946 was particularly astonished by the state of her liver, which was "soft and almost normal in consistency." Her body is interred at the Chapel of St. Bernadette in Nevers in a crystal coffin.
