unpopular opinion: after this album, ariana really needs to drop the overused synth-pop sound she’s been stuck in since ES and start working with new, different producers. her voice is genuinely one of the most versatile in the industry she can do so much more than these basic synthy-ballad-pop songs she keeps recycling. the recent max martin production formula is getting extremely tired at this point it worked amazingly for ES but it’s starting to sound same-y and safe. max martin’s production has become pretty basic and generic lately. his prime was incredible but it feels like he’s been on autopilot for the last few years.
