Your content does two things for you: 1) shows the world you’re skillful 2) shows the world you’re a trustworthy human that sticks around We’re here to get to know you. We are looking for signals to trust you. For that, we have to relate to you. See the hole in the donut? That hole makes you unique. It matters just as much as the meaty part. Your content shouldn’t leave out that hole. Because… - Whatever weaknesses you have, others have some too. - Whatever failures you've had, others had some too. - Whatever losses you’ve suffered, others suffered some too. Show us the hole in you. For only after we trust you, we’ll learn from you, we’ll buy from you, we’ll befriend you, we’ll help you.

Just shipped the first post of my personal newsletter. I'm doing a few things differently: • Using @Ghost's native newsletter tools • Every post is Members-only (i.e. you need to be subscribed to view on web) • Writing off-the-cuff, focusing on emotion Hoping to create some discussion in the comments section for each essay. Failed at this, but that's okay. It's been a busy few months for my family. On to the next chapter. Still wanting to get to 10k as I see it as a *psychological* barrier for bigger wins

Don’t compare yourself to other people. You don’t have the same context, the same goals or the same life. Today, I’m doing a 1-day sprint while my youngest son is home sick with a pneumonic virus. I still carry on but I stop from time to time to care for him 🙏✨

@hellobasak This is super good. My avg open rate was 50% with my previous newsletter. Btw, do you have double opt in enabled for this newsletter? Also do you clean your subscriber list often?

I'm 9 weeks into sending out my weekly newsletter and the average open rate is 71%. Is this good? Average? Meh? How should I read this?
