Breakfast with CMU’s @HeinzCollege! i3 develops these partnerships with colleges and universities that have iSchools such as CMU. As i3 scholars, students have access to scholarships and other opportunities from this partnership!

How many clicks does it take to access your health information as a college student? Health portals center universities, providers, and insurance companies, and when patients are considered, portals are made for a ‘typical user’ rather than BIPOC, disabled, and lgbtq+ users.

Research experiences for undergraduates: Supporting their participants as people and scholars, or just using the labor? I did the reading so you don't have to, and let me tell you, those results are interesting. More to come

Here’s a fun thread to start the last week of i3 this summer! The 2022 concluding cohort attend a professional development workshop where they learn how to communicate their work to broader audience. Learn more about each teams’ project from this twitter exercise below ⬇️

I got to present a workshop on using intersectionality as a lens in our lives to a group of 25+ students at @i3program! It was exciting to combine my experiences from @PittTweet, replicate class exercises from @BerkeleyISchool, and lived experiences to share this important info.

Phew 😮‍💨 Long sounding week right? Embedded in our values is also creating a community of these scholars—so don’t worry, we had some bonding events after class from Just Dance, karaoke, League of Legends, and alumni coming through with food for the whole i3 2023 crew!

As students learned about research design & computational tools, listened to potential advisors—many considered their future in graduate studies. To utilize the collective knowledge in the room, we also had a grad school panel for our fellows & leadership team to answer some Qs!
