@WorldBookDayUK we have had so much fun already today with book swaps, scavenger hunts and lots of reading. Some of us dressed up as book characters as well.

We have started opening the non-fiction library up at lunchtimes and the last few weeks it has been very popular. The children have been reading and sharing books and reading across year groups.

Y5/6 have enjoyed a virtual visit from @sufiyaahmed this-morning and have been introduced to Rosie Raja and other characters.

We had a super visit from the incredible @BWareAuthor today. We created characters and planned out stories. There was a lot of laughter and so many books sold. Happy reading everyone!

Thank you so much to all of you who came and bought books a couple of weeks ago. We raised £260 to put towards new books. That’s over 500 books that have gone into your homes. Thank you and happy reading!

The librarians are busy setting up the books for a book sale tonight. All money raised will be used to buy new library books. 📚

Most of these books have been shown to the children today and are now in classes or the library. Happy reading. We particularly liked the ones with sprayed edges!

We are having a lovely World Book Day. The children have taken part in a book swap, watched virtual author visits, shared books and been illustrators and authors. Lots of excitement around books. @WorldBookDayUK @Louiestowell @johngreenart

The whole school enjoyed a fairytale session yesterday with @MichaelRosenYes @jasinbath @AFatimaharan @BL_Learning There was a lot of talk about stories and lots of drawing happening.

So many Year 3 children came to make bookmarks in the library today. Lots left with new books too, so that’s a nice bonus!

We had our 1st book club today reading Secret Agent Mole by @Jamesfoleybooks so we can review it for @readingrocks .There was a lot of book chat and why we love graphic novels.

Year 5 took part in the library quiz today. Almost 3 quarters of Year 5 turned up and some left with new books! Results will be announced in assembly next week. 📖

We had our 1st of 4 NFL flag football sessions yesterday. The children (and staff) loved it!

The Year 3 and Year 4 library quiz was a huge hit this week. Sheets have been marked and house point awarded.
