A travel agency employed me as a Customer Service Officer.
On my first day, they told me;

The owner lives abroad, and every day we had to do video calls to report how many people we brought in.
When I realized what was going on, I opened different Gmail accounts and started sending fàke enquiries to the company email, ending each one with “Ebun’s client.”
Immediately I received my one-month salary, I stopped going to work.
They called me on the third day, saying they had started deducting money from my salary because I’d been absent for two days.

The rate of drug abuse in Nigeria is becoming alarming.
Last week, I shared how a cough syrup I used knocked me out for over nine hours. After that post, a lot of people came into my DMs; mostly guys, and even a few ladies. I was honestly surprised about the ladies. They were asking me for the name of the cough syrup.
At first, I didn’t respond to those messages. But yesterday, I checked my DMs again and noticed that one of them had sent another message. That made me open it, and I asked him, “Why do you need the name of this cough syrup? What do you want it for?”
He said he had been struggling with insomnia and hadn’t been sleeping. I told him, “If you’re dealing with any kind of health issue, go to the hospital. A doctor knows the right thing to do and the right medication to give you. I can’t tell you the name of the cough syrup I used.”
And you know what? He insulted me.
Honestly, if I wasn’t someone who values peace, I would have posted the message here. But I don’t even care. One thing I know for sure is that I’m not telling anyone the name.
Drug abuse is real, and it’s getting out of hand.

My first experience with this was on one of those calls where both my husband and I were on duty. They rushed a woman in around 11pm.
Her prognosis looked really bad- apparently she delivered in a Chemist earlier in the day and had been bleeding but they left her at home because the Chemist told them it was normal. They only brought her to the hospital because she had begun to lose consciousness.
This woman was paper white. My husband (the doctor on call) quickly sent the husband to get blood while we did what we could to save her life.
As soon as I saw the doctor start doing chest compressions, I just knew it was over. The husband ran into the hospital at exactly the same time the time of death was announced. A chill wind swept through the room, you could feel the cold on everyone. The sister was wailing, the husband burst into tears when the news was broken to him but another woman whose baby was on admission pounced on him and started beating him seriously for letting his wife give birth in a Chemist shop when childbirth was basically free in the state. We let her beat him up small before we pulled her away.
It was such a sad evening.

Pregnant women who choose to deliver at home rather than the hospital have a death wish. They literally leave their life in the cruel hands of fate. Things can escalate real fast—and by the time help comes, it's too late. A woman can bleed to death after delivery. Either from deep cuts in her vagina and cervix, or because her womb refuses to contract. All the blood vessels are wide open—like a high-pressure tap. What if the baby's head gets stuck? Or the baby gets exhausted, and only an emergency CS can save them? What if she or her baby needs oxygen? I honestly fear for them Home delivery is very common among women who have delivered more than two babies—or those who have been thoroughly brainwashed by quack midwives (Traditional Birth Attendants—TBAs). It doesn't always end well. Don't ever try it, please.
