Just learned about Mole & Thomas' incredible "Living Photographs" (1917-1920). Each photo featured hundreds or thousands of people arranged in perfect composition, forming an artwork only visible from the 24-meter (80 ft) camera tower. The anamorphic perspective meant that the further away, the more people required. While the Statue of Liberty had only 17 people on the first row, the torch in the distance required 12,000. The Liberty Bell one below required 25,000.
