@PhilipPullman Caveat: I can help if you’re planning ahead. But if you need a train ticket at short notice to visit a sick relative or to help a friend with last-minute childcare, prices are prohibitive. It’s as if this country prefers to keep the roads filled with petrol-powered vehicles. 🫣

I'm trying to buy a ticket for a railway journey. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE. For God's sake why can't we have a transport system that's easy to use, reliable, and comfortable, and doesn't cost a fortune?
