Typical. This administration has serious impulse control issues. They rashly put out something illegal without any warning or public input. Then when stakeholders understanably go crazy, they take to the twitterverse to correct their major screwup followed by guidance from the agencies that is completely contrary to the original proclamation. Followed in the end by gaslighting all of the lawyers who read the proclamation into believing we had it all wrong from the beginning. What a joke.

Let’s set the record straight: President Trump’s updated H-1B visa requirement applies only to new, prospective petitions that have not yet been filed. Petitions submitted prior to September 21, 2025 are not affected. Any reports claiming otherwise are flat-out wrong and should be ignored.
