There is no reason to believe Longstreet would be a better QB for USC in 2026, a make-or-break year for Riley. If the coach who has four starting QBs in the NFL and three Heisman winners says Maiava is USC‘s best option, I’m inclined to believe him.

We wish this update looked different. We had hoped for better days — but the last few have been some of the hardest. Little Bean struggled too much when they tried to wean him off the medication, so he’s now back on it with increased oxygen to help him. There are so many layers, so many intricate details in his little body that need divine healing. And honestly, it feels like we’ve gone beyond rock bottom. But a dear friend reminded me this morning that Jesus is still the Rock at the bottom. We are weary. So weary that even praying has felt hard. But we know that when we can’t find the words… the prayers of others can carry us. So please don’t stop praying. We desperately need you to lift us up. We don’t have answers. We’re tired of the questions. And some days, it feels like our strength is slipping away. But we are not without hope. Because we are not without Jesus. His timing feels so far from what we’ve prayed for… But we trust, even here, that His ways are still higher. Still better. Even when we can’t see or understand. Please keep praying for complete healing for our Little Bean. Although we believe he is a miracle already, we’re still praying for a miracle for our grandson. Specific prayer requests right now: That with time healing will occur and that he can get off the medication and his body would be stronger and not have to have future intervention. A healing miracle! Strength, endurance, wisdom, peace of mind and heart and for Erin and Parker to stand firm and rest in God’s sovereignty. P.S. His name is not “Bean”☺️ it’s his last name. Erin and Parker will share his full name and introduce him someday soon when they’re ready. Erin is hugging my mom in this picture. She has been right here with us every single day. A pillar of strength and great faith!! Thank you for everything! I love you mom so much!

@BrettHollander Really enjoyed your and the Orioles Radio and TV broadcasts this season from Miami. Yes hurt and disappointed after this loss - it was still a really good season - back to back playoffs! And it was season of more learning and growing for the O's. The best is yet to come.

I remember listening to an Orioles game on the radio before dinner in 1993 - I was about 9 years old… I heard Fred Manfra say in his baritone voice “the Orioles have been mathematically eliminated.” Embarrassingly I started crying at the dinner table. 30+ years later the perspective is entirely different. But the ending hurts. It always hurts. It’s supposed to hurt. That’s what fandom is… that’s the beauty of it. I think of the other great line in “A League of their Own” “It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great.”
