Last day of my 6 month acute medicine block. Initially I was dreading it, but its ended up being my favourite job so far?! Leaving with a pair of fluffy crocs thanks to the amazing ward team 😂

RIP Henry Halliday. Pioneering neonatologist, mentor and inspiration to many. He leaves an incredible legacy of improved premature neonatal care and survival. Also- an uncompromising rugby player well in to his 40s. Rest well telegraph.co.uk/obituaries/202…

@WhistlingDixie4 Ours don’t do nights as they go on a separate on call rota with the fy1 and then our ACCS trainees/Anaesthetics SHOs/stage 1 ICM trainees who have IAC go on a slightly different rota that include nights but slightly fewer weekends.

@jfall33 Thanks - And did you have them before IMT (ie when it was CMT and it wasn’t mandatory)

We always had CMT doctors rota for ITU. Since the advent of IMT, they occupy same amount space on our rota but for 8 weeks a rotation (rather than 16). 8 weeks of a full shift rota hinders experience…significantly. Am interested in what other units are doing to make it work…

@WhistlingDixie4 Yes we have had CMTs since 2015 and many have gone on to dual train as a result

Reading a book by @junesarpong that discusses point that ‘men don’t see women as role models’ I have lots of male role models - never really considered whether men in medicine have female professional role models Thoughts? Honest ones…not just what you think you should say…
