“You” IS our formal/plural second person! Our casual one was “thou” but it’s been totally phased out. English isn’t missing usted - it’s missing tú!

This is a random thought, but as a Spanish speaker, it really bothers me that English doesn't have a word for "ustedes" and only uses "tú" (* ￣︿￣)

You know, it turns out it wasn't just one Iranian school that was hit that killed 175 people, it turns out that we have hit 498 education facilities in Iran. Not only that, we've also hit 275 hospitals. Are we great yet? Cuz from where I'm standing we just look like terrorists.

This is basically a tenured professor forced out of a leadership position at a flagship public university for criticizing Israel.
The witch hunt at universities across the country is still going on.

The University of Washington appears to have removed a professor, Aria Fani, from his position as director of the Middle East Center because he criticized Israel and stated that the claim that Iran was pursuing a nuclear weapon was untrue.

Truly incredible stuff here. This is such an egregious error for the A section of the NYT (not a typo, genuinely not knowing what NATO stands for) that it should lead every piece on the decline in journalism

My local public library added a seed library, where people can get free seeds.
A few people in town have plant stands where you can drop off your extra plants/produce to trade with others.
Trying to form community connections will be more beneficial than trying to survive alone

I know "grow a garden" isn't necessarily a realistic suggestion for a lot of people, but you might be able to advocate for a community garden in your city, or talk to your neighbors about setting up a shelf someplace where people can swap their extra food.
