Basic difficulties with Force-Velocity-Power method for sprint acceleration include: 1) most of the ground force applied is ignored, 2) speed can increase when power decreases, 3) the F-V relation presented for running is opposite the simultaneous F-V activity in the muscles.

What is a theory? A theory describes a large class of observations and makes predictions about future results and observations. Why is this relevant? Wulf and Lewthwaite (2016) proposed the “OPTIMAL” theory of motor learning—an acronym for Optimizing Performance Through Intrinsic Motivation and Attention for Learning. They stated, “Motor learning cannot be understood without considering the motivational (e.g., perceived, social-cognitive, and affective) and intentional influences on behavior” (p. 1383).

"I think the warm-up can be a difference-maker between good athletes & elite athletes. It is also what sets the athlete up to be able to execute their best possible sessions, so it's something I take very seriously." 📈@ManciniPascal2 w/ @davidmaris958⤵️ simplifaster.com/articles/longe…

Coleman has very high neuromuscular abilities and exceptional starting (block) skills. “His sprinting action is characterised by a very high heel position during ground contacts and a pronounced forward lean of the upper body at full speed” Here’s a great Biomechanical breakdown of his start. worldathletics.org/download/downl…

Why do so many teach to strike back and underneath? “Push the ground away” = slow 40. We’ve always taught to reach a bit and strike slightly in front from steps 2-7, PULL the ground under you then push. Coleman (best starter ever) either does this naturally or has a smart coach.
