at sixteen, you think you can escape your father. you aren’t listening to his voice speaking through your mouth.

⠀ ⠀ she moved to sit up cautiously, hands settling on either side of her. his question causing her to pause, lips pursed. “funny story actually ——“ ㅤㅤ⠀ ⠀

⠀ ⠀ a nod before her gaze shifts down to her side, brows pinching upward slightly. “wonderful,” she mutters, teeth tucking into her lower lip. ㅤㅤ⠀ ⠀

⠀ ⠀ her breath stalls for a moment at the initial contact, jaw clenching. her previous joking demeanor is completely gone and a hand comes up, back pressing to her mouth before her teeth dig into the skin. “mother . . . fucker,” she breathes. voice muffled. ㅤㅤ⠀ ⠀

⠀ ⠀ her nose crinkles slightly, side dipping in as she attempts to escape his touch briefly. “see —— that would have been the first thing i grabbed. gotta make sure people know you’re qualified. especially in this world,” she replies, a smile tugging at her lips. ㅤㅤ⠀ ⠀

⠀ ⠀ there’s not much more of an argument from her as she shifts to lay down on the bed. her hand still pressed to her side. “y’know . . . i’ve never actually seen a degree or a license so i’m really not positive if you are one.” ㅤㅤ⠀ ⠀
