As a Vtuber, who has been in this industry for 5.5 years now... I greatly dislike the indie vtuber space. I don't think people realize how much back stabbing & bullshit goes on EVERYDAY behind the scenes: - How many snakes are really are in the grass, thriving. - How often good people are lied about, so awful people can get ahead - How many creators manipulate their audiences into "attacking" others but validate it by saying "Someone else did it first so it's okay" It's all the same shit and It's disgusting. Most people who know the creators that do this kinda stuff can't say anything or they wouldn't be believed cause well "My oshi could never!!!" If they did ever speak out they would also be lied about and ostracized like those in the past that have tried to speak up. People with a bigger sob story & a larger audience will always win. Life's just unfair that way. I've seen it happen time and again. Over the last few months I've been thinking long and hard about my time as a vtuber; and it really feels like the space gets worse as time goes on. Maybe it's just all the stories we have seen come to light as of recent... idk. I'm not trying to doom and gloom cause it's not all bad, but I've noticed that some of the creators that seem to grow fast all eventually are outed for similar stuff: - They focused more on getting to know the right people instead of making cool stuff - They learn how to make more money off their audience though manipulation - How to become the next hot topic even if it means taking someone else down - How to get up there with the "big dogs" so they too can feel untouchable It's sad. There are so many great people. Kind people. Creators that kinda stay in their lane. You don't see them as often cause they focus on their craft. They thrive within their smaller community but never really flourish outwards cause their name isn't "trending" due to drama or having known someone big. They don't do that ladder climb shit cause they rather make real connections and when they eventually leave content they probably wanna feel confident in that they didn't have to throw away their morals to do their best. Maybe I'll never grow to the size I'd like to because I care more about people than using just using them. I'm just hoping one day my passions and my strong morals will somehow be seen by others in a big way. Anyway, TLDR; I want cool people to thrive. I want shit people to have karma hit them HARD. Keep making cool shit & be kind ✌️
