In Bangkok, an Israeli woman assaulted someone in the street, and gets what she deserved. Respect for all my Thai friends 🧡

Let's be clear: Israel wants peace. A piece of Palestine (all of Palestine). A piece of Lebanon. A piece of Syria. A piece of Jordan. A piece of Egypt. A piece of Iraq. A piece of Saudi Arabia. It's called the #GreaterIsrael project. And Australia is complicit in it. #auspol

Military experts for decades: Don't go to war with Iran, they'll close the Strait of Hormuz and kill US forces in the region, plus their terrain makes a ground invasion impossible. US: *bombs Iran* Iran: *closes the Strait, kills US forces* US: US: Let's do a ground invasion.

Iran's missile capacity is far beyond what was assumed. If Iran can strike Diego Garcia, then Europe is also within range. This is worth keeping in mind before Europeans join the war, especially as Russia may have some targets for Iran to respond to 4 years of European attacks on Russian territory with Storm Shadows and other weapons. These wars are connected and we could already be in a new World War. Now is the time for diplomacy and de-escalation.

I have been critical of what I have described as Iran’s ‘great power policy’. Revolutionary Iran has both refused to give up on its confrontation of the West and refused to become dependent on either of the non-Western great powers. This is a policy suitable for a great power, not a middle power. Or so I argued. But I may have been wrong. When push came to shove, they are showing that they can actually pull this off. The US and Israeli offensive has failed to subdue Iran despite all the systematic preparation by the Israelis. The Iranians have proven that they enjoy escalation dominance in the gulf. They have proven that they can hold on the Hormuz weapon in perpetuity. So maybe I too underestimated Iran. For structural reasons, Iran is a great power. It is the mirror opposite of Imperial Japan. Japanese exposures are Iran’s strong points! What an astonishing turn of events! Who on this whole fucking planet thought that Iran would not only survive but emerge as a great power of the international system? Nobody saw this coming. Not even me.

The longstanding Greater Israel plan is now being openly discussed for Lebanon where it's not about a "buffer zone" to push back attacks (technically unworkable anyway no matter the illegality or ultimate obtuseness), but instead it's about new settlements. Clarity:

Opinion: After decades of temporary buffer zones, Israel may need a civilian presence in southern Lebanon to prevent Hezbollah’s return. jpost.com/opinion/articl…

Oh no, Iran is exercising its right to self defence. ▪️@ABCnews describes Iran’s self defence as “a plot against the West”. ▪️Remember ABC backing of Israel’s justification of the ‘right to self defence’ when they devastated and slaughtered thousands in Gaza. ▪️But now they deny this right to Iran. Of course. ▪️And they say the “plot” to defend themselves was “years in the making”. ▪️How long do they think it took the US to build all their foreign military bases around the Middle East? ▪️Perhaps too, the US has been “plotting” to dominate and control the Middle East and the world’s oil market has been “years in the making”. ABC’s headline of its top article today: ‘In the Strait of Hormuz, Iran unleashes a plot against the West years in the making’ abc.net.au/news/2026-03-2…

It’s probable that Iran will eventually have both nuclear weapons and ICBMs that can reach American cities. Iran has now been provided the strongest possible incentive to proliferate in utter secrecy. There are only two ways to prevent or delay these developments. Either you occupy Iran for the foreseeable future. Or you bring Iran into the international system and provide it enough security and path to prosperity that this course of action is unattractive. But we’ve been learning that the West is simply incapable of straightforward strategic thinking. It has bet the house on raw power. And it will probably have to pay the full price for that wager.

Nothing was more horrifying to Anglos than the idea that one day the Mohammadans would figure this out. That's basically why the cold war in the middle east went the way it did, and why Arab nationalism was stamped out

This is remarkable. Tucker Carlson mildly challenges the Economist’s editor-in-chief to define what Israel’s “right” to exist means, and they flounder. A concept that has been regurgitated and absorbed for decades, with no interrogation. Simply accepted as an immovable truth.

While my people are facing reckless aggression, I wish all those celebrating Happy Eid Al-Fitr and Nowruz. Our ancient civilization has three millennia of history of defending Iranians and the region from outsiders. We are now writing a new chapter in that story.
