Call me immature but I do not like a neutral friend especially if you know the other person did something hurtful or malicious. You will be cut off. Being neutral in moments when you know someone is dead wrong is problematic as hell. A friend to all is a friend to none 🙃

When you stop playing people’s game of being sorry or internalising the feeling of guilt, you realise VERY quickly that they too decide to no longer maintain their mask. When you refuse to let the covert narcissist gain power through your sympathy, you’ll start noticing the same theme or issue crop up in other areas of your life with other people who are also afflicted by the covert narcissist spirit. You have to establish refusal with them ALL.
