At 1:50 PM on March 27, 2026, at Siem Reap Angkor International Airport, the Coordination Group (CLG) of the Kingdom of Cambodia warmly received two rotating officers from Malaysia: Lieutenant Colonel Mohd Amin bin Baharom and Lieutenant Colonel Mohd Erry bin Dul TLDM. These officers have arrived to join the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) in Cambodia, led by the Philippines in its capacity as the ASEAN Rotating Chair. By welcoming friendly nations to assist in this task, Cambodia aims to promote transparency, accountability, and mutual trust.
The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia reaffirm our firm, sincere, and unwavering commitment to fully and faithfully respect and implement the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) on December 27, 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand on October 26, 2025, and all other relevant agreements. This commitment is made with the aim of ensuring rapid recovery and restoring normalcy, and long-lasting peace and stability.
