Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, wishes to inform the public as well as members of national and international media as follows: At 1:50 PM on March 27, 2026, at Siem Reap Angkor International Airport, the Coordination Group (CLG) of the Kingdom of Cambodia warmly received two rotating officers from Malaysia: Lieutenant Colonel Mohd Amin bin Baharom and Lieutenant Colonel Mohd Erry bin Dul TLDM. These officers have arrived to join the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) in Cambodia, led by the Philippines in its capacity as the ASEAN Rotating Chair. Their mission is to observe, verify, and report to ensure the effective implementation of all measures outlined in the Joint Statement. Cambodia has always continues to provide its full support to the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT), emphasizing the essential need to strengthen the AOT's role and mandate. This ensures the ceasefire and agreed measures between Cambodia and Thailand are implemented fully and effectively. By welcoming friendly nations to assist in this task, Cambodia aims to promote transparency, accountability, and mutual trust. The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia reaffirm our firm, sincere, and unwavering commitment to fully and faithfully respect and implement the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) on December 27, 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand on October 26,  2025, and all other relevant agreements. This commitment is made with the aim of ensuring rapid recovery and restoring normalcy, and long-lasting peace and stability. The Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia would like to respond to the reports published by Thai media on March 24, 2026—quoting a 'Thai intelligence chief' who accused Cambodia of preparing for a third armed conflict—are incorrect and based on baseless claims.

Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, wishes to inform the public as well as members of national and international media as follows: On Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 11:10 a.m., the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia coordinated with the delegations of foreign military attachés from 12 countries to visit Preah Vihear Temple and its surrounding area, located in Sra’em Commune, Choam Khsant district, Preah Vihear Province, Kingdom of Cambodia. This site is one of the most valuable World Heritage Sites of humanity and has been severely damaged by attacks carried out by Thai military forces. It should be noted that two attacks involving a large number of heavy weapons, particularly aerial bombardments from drones and fighter jets conducted by the Thai military, caused severe damage and destruction to the physical structure of the World Heritage Site, Preah Vihear Temple, and its surrounding area. These acts demonstrated immorality and contempt for culture, civilization, and sacred places that are part of the heritage of humanity, especially the invaluable cultural heritage built and left behind by the Khmer ancestors. According to damage records from the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, assessments conducted between 7 and 27 December 2025 indicate more severe damage than those recorded in July 2025. Based on photographic and video evidence collected by the Preah Vihear National Authority during its documentation mission on 28 December 2025, there were 562 locations where Preah Vihear Temple sustained severe damage. As a law-abiding and responsible state, Cambodia adheres to the peaceful resolution of disputes in accordance with international law and the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and the ASEAN Charter. Cambodia firmly opposes the threat or use of force and seeks to achieve a just, impartial, and lasting solution, which will serve as the foundation for the peoples of both countries to live together in peace, stability, and development. On Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 10:35 a.m., the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia coordinated the delegation’s visit to inspect the unexploded ordnance left behind following the Thai military’s attack on Cambodia in 2025, as well as the implementation of the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand that came into effect on December 27, 2025, in Preah Vihear Province. Officials from the Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) presented to the 12 delegations the types of unexploded ordnance and munitions, as well as the total number of 1,223 pieces of ordnance found in the Preah Vihear temple complex, which the Thai military used during the attack on Preah Vihear Temple, a World Heritage Site and a precious cultural and historical heritage of the Cambodian people. It is also important to note that the Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC)’s unexploded ordnance clearance activities are carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the Royal Government and have been identified as a priority task to ensure the safety of citizens.
