Violet flowers and violet leaves smell like two completely different worlds. The flowers give off a sweet, powdery, and slightly spicy scent, delicate enough to lift your mood with just a hint of their aroma. In contrast, the leaves carry an earthy, green fragrance, ⬇️

Tensions in the Persian Gulf have escalated to headline news. The 1979 Iranian Revolution not only sparked lasting hostility with the US, but also disrupted the supply of a key raw material used in an iconic French perfume. Do you know which perfume/material it was?

Louis Vuitton made a very hasty and immature entry into the fragrance market. They rushed to produce a large number of perfumes in a short period of time, without aiming to leave a lasting legacy like houses such as Chanel or Guerlain. Of course, one cannot ignore the very ⬇️

The compound responsible for the characteristic smell of saffron is a molecule called safranal. It might be interesting to know that these red stigmas, which are picked early in the morning, don’t really have a distinct smell. However, during the drying process, safranal ⬇️

@3tra_frag Exactly. I feel the same way. I don’t smell any oud in it. It comes across more like something similar to burnt plastic to me.

@mr__perfumer Actually.. I don't smell any oud in it at all. Instead it smells strongly of spices that remind me of Indian cuisine. As oud lover I felt quite disappointed

There are many fragrances on the market named after car manufacturing companies, such as Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, and Bentley. However, these perfumes don’t actually have a direct connection to those companies. They have simply licensed their brand names to fragrance ⬇️

If you appreciate fragrances that feel natural and effortlessly transparent, exploring Heeley’s creations is a must. Founded in Paris in 2006 by English perfumer James Heeley, this house stands out for its refined craftsmanship, i.e. few brands achieve such a level of quality.

Bvlgari Falkar has one of the closest scent profiles to Arabic incense and oud. It features a non-sweet oud paired with a slightly petroleum-like, diesel nuance. This oily accord is deep and bitter, yet very smooth. The heart of the fragrance is leathery, skillfully blended ⬇️
