@Zamara_fdn is currently convening our annual Girl Summit 2.0 under the Girls Program the Girls Program an intentional, feminist space where girls are not just participants, but architects of their own becoming. This year, we gather over 80 junior secondary school girls from Kilifi and Kwale counties under the powerful theme: Dream Boldly. Become Fully. Lead Fiercely. #GirlsSummit #ZamaraVoices

Happy Easter!!🐣 This Easter, we hold space for all that this season has asked of us. For the quiet ways we’ve shown up for one another. For the resilience that continues to carry us forward. May this Easter bring renewal in the ways we need it most, in our hearts, in our communities, and in the paths ahead. #ZamaraVoices

When access is restricted, dignity is compromised. We must center people’s rights and experiences by ensuring that access is universal, inclusive, and free from discrimination. #TLC4Rights #EndAbortionStigma @TheLegalCaravan

Dignity begins with access. Access to healthcare, to reproductive choices, to accurate information, and to safe spaces is foundational to living a full and autonomous life. #TLC4Rights #EndAbortionStigma @TheLegalCaravan

I’ve just watched a heartbreaking report on Citizen TV. Faiz a 3-year-old child went to school and never came back alive. The school said “fever” was the cause A postmortem revealed he drowned in a fish pond. Let that sink in. This is not an isolated incident. It is a pattern. In recent months, we’ve seen multiple cases of children drowning, others falling into septic tanks, and lives lost in spaces meant to protect them. This is not bad luck. This is failure. Where is the Ministry of Education? Why has there never been a nationwide safety audit of schools? How are institutions operating without basic checks on hazards like ponds and septic systems? In the pic below, you can see the pond, and it's in a school where 3-year-olds are learning, and no one has noticed that it is a threat? Leadership is not statements after tragedy. Leadership is prevention. Parliament, as well stop letting Kenyans down. You cannot remain silent while children die from preventable risks. We need mandatory inspections, enforceable safety laws, and real consequences for negligence and penalties for people who run unsafe schools. Owners who run unsafe schools should be jailed. Introduce CCTVs in all public and private schools. This government continues to fail Kenyans. We cannot afford five more years of this.

The postmortem results indicate that Baby Faiz was murdered inside Gilgil Hills Academy. The findings show that the child had not inhaled any water, contrary to the school’s account that he drowned in a fishpond. This raises questions about why the school allegedly wanted to conduct the autopsy without the presence of family members. It appears that a teacher may have struck him, leading to his death, and there was an attempt to conceal the incident.

The growing backlash against feminist movements is a warning sign: spaces for participation are closing, and equality is being pushed out.We need safe space for our feminist to speak up. @Zamara_fdn #RewriteLeadership

The failure to implement the two-thirds gender rule is not accidental but political. Power is being protected and not shared. #ReWriteLeadership #ZamaraVoices

Representation is visibility. Feminist leadership is power and power must be used to disrupt, dismantle and rebuild systems that excludes. #ReWriteLeadership #ZamaraVoices @Zamara_fdn

Backlash against feminism is shrinking civic space, making it harder for young women to organize, speak out, and lead. Yet even in hostile environments, young women continue to rise, resist, and demand justice and equality. #ReWriteLeadership #ZamaraVoices @Zamara_fdn
