HBO made the Targaryens too attractive and accidentally removed what made them unsettling in the books. The difference between these two photos says everything. One looks like descendants of an ancient dragonlord empire obsessed with blood purity and prophecy. The other just looks like beautiful people in silver wigs. Book Valyrians weren’t supposed to feel normal. GRRM describes them almost like a separate species: • silver-gold hair • purple eyes • ghostly pale features • beauty that feels eerie instead of approachable The first image actually captures that uncanny look. The purple eyes alone make them feel less human and more like the last remnants of a magical civilization that genuinely believed it was closer to gods than men. The second image feels safer. More “Hollywood attractive.” And honestly, I think that changes the entire vibe of House Targaryen. Because they were never supposed to blend in with Westerosi nobles. They were supposed to look like the last survivors of something ancient & deeply inbred Do you think the shows made the Targaryens better by humanizing them or worse by removing what made them feel almost inhuman?

Kit Harington says he feels very protective of ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 because of how much work went into making it “I really wasn't very well in that final season. Like, and I find it a painful experience to kind of even look at because I'm so, so dumb. And suffering from a number of things, not least addiction, that I was like, "I actually really, from the bit I have seen, I'm quite proud of what I did, interestingly." But as far as the season eight thing goes, I feel very protective of it still. And the reason is 'cause I mean, I guess you all saw it from the outside, whereas I saw it from the inside. So I knew — I know how much care and how much love and how much work and how much life went into making it, and the conversations that would have happened and the arguments around the table about what way to go and what thing to do.
