#MerchantOfVenice1936 matinee - during the trial scene - Antonio tells my Shylock she has to convert to Christianity- once usual gasps died down - a little old lady shouted out absolutely furious & shocked ‘Shame on You’ to Antonio- it was brilliant - proper political theatre 🎭
